NOTE: I wrote this out on the 11th but completely forgot to post it!! I will be posting an actual update next so make sure to read the next post as well!!

These first 10 days at camp has quite literally been life changing. It’s been a LOT but in the best way. I’ve been surrounded by true Godly people who have already become my family. It’s hard to believe we were strangers day 1.

The first day my emotions consisted of fear, anxiety, and loneliness. I was thinking: “What have I gotten myself into.” It was difficult to say goodbye to my family and my comfort of things I was used to. Even with those emotions though, I was excited and trusted the Lord for what he has planned for me. Now I can confidently say that these past days have been PACKED with joy. I really enjoy sleeping in tents for the time I’m at training (which is 3 weeks) plus all the little memories I’m making with my quad. GO L QUAD!!

core memory:

day 3 for an exercise, half of our packs got “lost” so as a result our squad had to share our tents with those that didn’t have their things. For the boys however… well let’s just say more of their packs were taken. With only two of the boys having packs, we ended up creating a mega fort out of scrap tents and other materials so they could have a place to sleep. All the girls gave the boys our warm cloths so they wouldn’t freeze in the night. It was such a sweet moment because it showed me what community was made of and truly bonded us. We were able to come together and share whatever belongings we had, even if that meant sacrificing some comfort to love on others.  (see first photo)

also THE BIGGEST THANKS to those who have donated to this trip!! my heart is so full… just wow, you guys have gone above and beyond. I’m 17% away from fully funded!!!
