Hey everyone,
Itâs been about 5 days since iâve been in Guatemala already!!! We spent the first few days at an AirBnb in Antigua. This time was spent exploring the city and debriefing our time spent in Nicaragua. We had lots of space to journal and think deeply about what the Lord taught us in Nicaragua. Our team mentor flew all the way to us just for a couple days and it was so sweet to reconnect with her and spend personal time in prayer with her. This time really helped me to rethink my priority list and surrender all of my future plans to the Lord. As I was debriefing Nicaragua, something that I felt the Lord was speaking to me was that he was preparing me for whatâs to come. I donât know if that means for whatâs here in Guatemala or for just my future in general. But, my heart is so happy here and genuinely just so excited to serve the Lord in a new environment. I feel like my heart has just been so refreshed being here already and all the weight I had been putting on myself has been lifted. Praise Jesus!!
After our time in Antigua, our team got to spend a day at the main AIM base nearby. This was such a sweet last day with our entire squad. We also got to hangout with L-squad who is living at the base for a few months and hear some cool testimonies from ministry here. We then said goodbye to half of our team who will be doing ministry closer to Antigua which was hard. Then, we drove around 9 hours to a little town called Poptun, Peten. Our base here is so beautiful. We are right in the middle of the town. Itâs definitely given us a better feel for what life is like here living within the community. Our hosts have been SO GOOD to us! Theyâve been so kind and it already feels like we are a part of their family which is so sweet.
We got a little introduction to ministry here also! We will be doing lots of kids ministry (teaching + sports), womenâs ministry, house visits, and working with teens. I am genuinely so excited for this! I canât wait to spend time and get to know the beautiful people here and just experience what God is already doing here. Itâs so sweet! đ€ I canât wait to update you all next week!
