Some Important Information: While I am in Eswatini, I will be rarely reachable by phone. Yet, Lord willing, I will have occasional access to connection allowing me to communicate and/or blog infrequently. Thank you!

My team and I worked in North Carolina as shown in my previous blog photo album. While there, we weed whacked, power washed tables and cut up 125 lbs of onions (along with other produce)! That memory makes me tear up just to think about.

I learned so much more about how my teammates function and desire to be treated while working alongside them in the yard or in the kitchen. We also learned the importance of seeking each other out and checking in with one another regularly. This allows us to support and love each other in a more Christlike manner. While it is not easy, seeking each other out and checking in is so crucial to reflect Christ not only at home but in other countries!

Upon returning to Georgia from North Carolina, I have had time to reflect on my time at training camp. I learned to actively recognize the voice of the Holy Spirit, to love the Lord with more dependence and to act and think with greater humility.
Yet, there are moments where I am not intentional to seek the Lord, resulting in unnecessary stress and confusion. I long to keep creating that intentional space to speak and ponder alongside my Lord. I also long to create intentional space for others to speak and ponder with. In this way, I can draw near to the Father while drawing nearer to others; even on the other side of the globe.

Please keep praying for me specifically for:

  • Smooth and safe travel days (October 4th-6th)
  • Prepared mind and heart arriving in Africa to serve the adults and numerous children there! (We will primarily serve and play with the children after school!)

Many blessings,

Lia.
