I’m in Guatemala!!!
My home away from home. I’m so excited to share all we have done this week so far. It has already been such an amazing adventure. From sleeping in an airport, to travel on a chicken bus. It has been so spiritually fruitful.
Sunday night around 9pm, K-Squad and I traveled to the Atlanta airport. It was a night I will never forget. We dragged our big packs through the airport and found a spot to sleep for the night. Not everyone slept, some people wandered the airpot and some people talked about their goals for Guatemala. Or they did what I did…used the WiFi to download shows and movies! We woke up to check our bags and got to our gate. Some people took naps or got food. Monday October 7, 2024 at 10:30 we boarded our flight to Guatemala. The flight was long and I slept for the whole thing. We landed, got our bags , and took a chicken bus to the Adventures in Missions base! We took the rest of the day to rest, unpack, and get to know our new home for the next two months.
Tuesday-Wednesday, we took a few day to know the AIM (Adventure in Missions) staff. We learned about Guatemala and the culture and to live here as a local. We also got to know what our ministries are! I get the privilege to work with Hope Ministries.
Hope Ministries is a place to love and teach children. We get to teach them English, go out to the people of village, share the Gospel, have a bible study for the women, and host soccer classes. God is so good.
Thursday, was our first day of ATL (Ask The Lord). I got the privilege to go with Hannah. She is so loving and so bold in the spirit and was quick to let the Lord guide. We only spoke to two people, but it’s not about how many people you talk to. Just being there to listen and to love them.
Friday! Our first day of ministry! I can’t express how much fun I had. To work with children and to be in their presence was such a joy. Our amazing ministry host, Jessica, bought us flowers, snacks, and took us on a tour of San Antonio. After all that, we went to a coffee shop and had such a good time: eating and talking. We met up at our Ministry and started to work with the kiddos. It was such a blessing to hear their laughter and be in the presence of there excitement. I can’t wait to get to know everyone and hear what all the Lord has done in their lives.
That was just the start of my time in Guatemala. I’m so excited to see what else he is going to teach me and show me while I’m here. “ Because he lives, I can face tomorrow.”
Prayer Request: For my team and I. That the Lord will continue to reach the people of Guatemala. That I continue to hear his voice!
Thank you for all the love and support! Missing you all so very much!
