We all have convictions from the Holy Spirit, some big and some small. And I think that no matter what the conviction is, the devil tries to sneak in doubts so that you second guess yourself. So when I felt the conviction to do missions, especially WR, I definitely had times where I doubted if it was really from the Lord, or if it was simply something wanted.

But the most effective way to deal with confusion and uncertainty is to look at what the Word of God has to say. So here are some verses that helped confirm that my conviction was from the Lord:

“Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4 This verse showed me that the desire to do missions was something that the Lord had put in my heart which meant that He was giving me the “yes” to do WR.

“Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into the harvest field.‘” Matthew 9:37-38 We need disciples on the mission field to do the work of the Lord!

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'” Matthew 25:40 When we serve those lower than us, we are serving the Lord.

“Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 Our command is to make disciples of ALL nations.

There are several more verses about being a missionary and sharing the Gospel, but those were the main ones that stuck out to me. Remember that if the Lord places something on your heart, you can confirm it in prayer and in reading the Word 🙂
