Hello everyone, I have another update for you all. This past week, my team and I have been in Mississippi doing domestic ministry. The Lord revealed quite a few things while I was away. We stayed on a Native American reservation with friendly Mennonites. Let me tell y’all about Rachel. Rachel is one of the Mennonites that I was really able to bond and connect with. She came over to the house often to hangout with us. She baked cookies with us and played games. I grew very fond of her over the couple of days we got to be with her. One of my friends and I had the privilege of having deep conversations about the Lord with her and better understanding the way she lives and why. Saying goodbye to Rachel was very hard. I miss Rachel deeply. I’m going to tell you a little bit about the ministry we were doing. The first couple of days consisted of manual labor. We split up in teams and went to several churches around the area and did everything from installing sinks to painting the walls. It was really nice to see everybody come together as a team to get the job done. The people we worked with were amazing and had inspiring relationships with the Lord. My favorite part of ministry was on the Native American reservation. Some of us started playing a softball game with the older kids and adults and were able to just hang out and laugh with them. On our very last day on Sunday, we went to church and ate lunch with the church. It was pretty sad to say goodbye to everyone, but we had a good time. The Lord revealed to me that I have a very big heart for the people I meet, and the goodbyes I’m going to make on this trip are going to be very hard.
Since being back in Georgia, we have started our debrief week. This just consists of a lot of check-ins and one-on-ones with our team leaders as we prepare ourselves to leave for Malaysia in a week. If I’m being very honest, I’m getting a little more nervous as the time comes closer, but I also feel very excited to continue on the Lord’s work. Also just this morning we got our schedules and ministries that we will be doing in Malaysia. This was very eye opening and reassuring to why the Lord brought us all here for. After being in training camp for a month I did start to feel bored and anxious, but nevertheless I will be across the world in just a few short days. I cant wait to share more about what the Lord starts to do while in a brand new country and culture.
That is all for now! Please be praying for my team and I as we travel in 4 days!
