First week in Eswatini and there has been many new things! We settled in to our new home and got adjusted to the new place. On Monday we started into ministry. Our first day of the week is an ATL day which is an Ask The Lord day. We went into the town of Manzini and asked God where we should go and who we should talk to. It was definitely an experience that is out of my comfort zone but it is an opportunity to lean on God and trust Him to lead you. We got to have a few conversations with the local people of Manzini and also got to pray for them. When we went for lunch we also decided to pay for some people’s lunch which is a very uncommon thing where we are at so it was very awesome to be able to change someone’s day by paying for their meal:)

On Tuesdays through Fridays we are working with local care points around the town of Manzini. A care point is a safe place in the community for local kids to go to and get fed. Our squad is broken into two groups and going to two different care points each day. We get to be around the kids, play with them and then feed them. All of the kids bring their own containers and we fill them up. Some of the kids only get this meal all day and some even take leftovers home to their family. Everyday God provides enough food to be able to feed the 85-100 kids that come to the care point. So we are there for four days each week! Some of the mornings we get to do house visits or prayer walks around the community. We also grow together as a group in our morning Bible study and as we try to learn some phrases of Siswati to communicate with kids that don’t all know English.

Our weekends are slow and full of rest! Some Saturdays we will be going out and doing our adventure day but this past Saturday a lot of us stayed home and just rested! I caught up on my laundry and had an awesome day of rest and relaxation. We ended our week with Sabbath that was another day of rest full of time with our squad, church & resting in whatever way we each prefer!
