Reflections on Our Last Week in Nicaragua
As we wrap up our final week in Nicaragua, a wave of bittersweet emotions washes over me. This journey has been profoundly impactful, filled with moments that have deepened my faith and connected me with incredible people.
Bridging Hearts to Jesus
Our last prayer walks were particularly meaningful. It was a privilege to move people closer to Jesus and witness transformation in their lives. We met some brothers who had strayed from the church, and their heartfelt wordsāthat we were like angels sent from heavenāreminded us of the powerful role we play in each other’s spiritual journeys. Welcoming them back into a relationship with Christ was a beautiful experience.
Connections at the Dump
One of the highlights of the week was returning to the dump, where I met a wonderful little girl. Sharing pictures of my family and friends with her was a privilege. When she exclaimed, āMui Bonita,ā my heart was filled with joy. I gifted her one of my bracelets, and her excitement was contagious. I will cherish her hugs and radiant smile forever.
The Armor of God
We also organized a vibrant Vacation Bible School (VBS), where the children’s enthusiasm for Jesus was palpable. Teaching them about the armor of God was both fun and fulfilling. It was a joy to see their faces light up with understanding and excitement.
Worship and Growth
Singing worship and helping to lead was another blessing. Each note resonated with the love and hope we aim to share. This experience has not only deepened my relationship with God but has also been an opportunity for personal growth.
A New Chapter Awaits
As I prepare to leave for Guatemala, I am filled with anticipation for what God has in store. Yet, I know I will miss so much about Nicaragua. The warmth of the people who welcomed us into their homes and their unwavering desire for Jesus has inspired my faith in profound ways.
Treasured Memories
I will miss the breathtaking views of the volcanoes, the ocean, and the lush trees. The enchanting fireflies that lit up our nights, the morning devotions led by our ministry hosts, and the moments spent praying over those in the hospital will remain etched in my memory.
Love and Growth Beyond Nicaragua
Godās creation here has left me in awe, reminding me of His beauty and grace in every moment. As I say goodbye to Nicaragua, I carry with me the lessons learned, the friendships formed, and the love shared. I look forward to the next chapter in Guatemala, eager to see how God will continue to work in my life and the lives of those I meet.
