Hi, my name is Ella Erickson and I’m 18 years old. Ever since my grandfather spent time in Malawi when I was a child, I have wanted to go to Africa to do God’s work. Instead of heading off to college or jumping into a career, I’ve decided to join Adventures in Missions for a 4-month trip to Africa. We leave this coming January. Ahhhhhh!
I felt a call to serve in mission work during summer camp through my home church in McCall, Idaho when I was 16. I even went on stage at church and spoke about Africa. You can watch the short clip here: Ella at Elk Creek Church
My time in Africa will be split between Kenya and Uganda. Adventures in Missions has established relationships with existing ministries and communities where I will be helping out wherever I’m needed.
There are two ways that you can help support my journey. The first is by committing to partner with me in prayer for me and my team. Here is how you can pray:
- For safety and health during our travel days. We head first to Gainesville Georgia for 12-days of training and preparation. From there we leave straight for Africa.
- For our ministry partners that we will be working with. That the work we perform will be glorifying to God and a blessing to those we encounter.
- That my team and I adjust well to living abroad and that we bond as a group.
The second way you can support me is by helping me raise all the funds needed to go on the trip. I need to raise $8,895 by January 12th. I’ve been working two jobs since graduation to help fund this trip but I would be forever grateful for any additional help I can get.
Your funds will help pay for the following:
- International flights across 3 continents
- Local transportation within the country
- Budget for ALL meals
- Health insurance
- Training for sustainable domestic and international missions
- Logistical setup for traveling, meals, and lodging
- Ministry support, setup, and supplies for strategic partners
- Discipleship with experienced coaches
- Leadership from high-quality mentors
- Debriefs during and post World Race
