So we’re about to leave Kenya for Uganda. So let’s recap Kenya!

We learned about Kenya and how to use local transportation in Mombasa. Then we were split into our teams; my team named ourselves Barefoot Children.

My team went to Isiolo, Kenya, also referred to as the Heart of Kenya. Our ministry was to love the children at New Dawn African Girl. Mama Nancy takes in girls in need, providing a safe, loving environment and helping them go to school. Street girls and girls in compromising situations are given a safe loving place to grow up. I compared Mama Nancy’s ministry to US foster care but the government has no power to remove the girls from Mama Nancy’s care, kinda like adoption.

We learned as much from Mama Nancy as we poured out. Mama Nancy is the strongest, most obvious prayer warrior I have ever seen! She has the power of ‘No Means No’. On the streets of town when we would go out with Mama Nancy, sometimes guys would follow us begging for money because ‘all white people are rich’ Mama Nancy could tell them to leave and they would!

We are all in Nairobi to meet up before we head to Uganda and our Uber driver knew of Mama Nancy! He had lived in Isiolo for several years and he had been told about Mama Nancy! That’s just how amazing and God blessed Mama Nancy is!

Leaving Isiolo and Mama Nancy and her girls was like leaving home all over again and I will continue to pray for this ministry for years to come!
