Welcome! Thank you so much for joining me on this wonderful adventure God has called me to!
My name is Elina! I am enrolled for the semester trip to Indonesia/Thailand with Adventures in Missions. I am so excited about this trip and all the ways God will work while our group is there. Missions work is something that I have always had an interest in and wanted to do. In the past, I have had the privilege to do some mission work in very short-term settings. These have been some of the most impactful times in my life when I was so clearly able to see God’s work and feel his presence. It was so amazing to be able to see how God worked within our own group, the people we partnered with and all of the people we were able to do work for. I also had the amazing opportunity to work for two summers at a Christian summer camp. This allowed me to connect and learn so much from all the fellow Christians I was working with. I was also able to work with children and see them grow in their relationship with Christ, and witness as they were introduced to Him for the first time. It is truly difficult to put into words the impact these times have had on my faith journey. Much of my original thought of this trip was based upon these experiences. I had just felt the nudging in my heart and ended up finding this specific trip. Once I found it, I started praying and considering what that would look like for me. As I prayed. I just felt the peace of God at every turn and the Lord just kept opening doors. The peace has been so present throughout the whole application process and I am so thankful for it! I can’t wait to see what the Lord will do during this trip and its lead-up!
A little bit about me; I am currently a university student studying for my Bachelor of Education. I hope to get a job teaching elementary students when I graduate. I live near the Rocky Mountains in Alberta, Canada. I love being able to spend time outdoors exploring all of the beauty that nature provides. I often go hiking, but I also enjoy horseback riding and rock climbing.
