The last 2 weeks were spent learning more about God and developing sweet sweet friendships at training camp in Gainsville, Georgia! AIM (Adventure In Missions) does their best to prepare us for going across the world. The first night we slept on the floor with everybody and then we were awoken by the national anthem and lights being turned on. I had no idea what I had gotten myself into. They also took our phones everyday which was such a blessing to make genuine undistracted connections with the amazing people around me. Throughout the 2 weeks we had different scenarios (foreign airport, market place, kids ministry, house visits, and cultural day). These scenarios were silly, but very helpful and impactful. On cultural day we dressed and behaved in the cultures we were going. And during meals we ate different foods from different cultures which included larva and 100 year old egg…we also would go to different sessions throughout the day that were so impactful. We learned about the gospel and how to share it, apprenticeship with Jesus, forgiveness, identity, the Holy Spirit, sabbath, the voice of God, and evangelism. They were all so amazing and I learned and grew so much. I got opportunities to lead devotion, as well as a mini church service. I was able to grow more in confidence and be reassured in my faith in the Lord, and His ability to work through me.
We had some ups and downs throughout training camp as well. Through loss, anxieties, and change. However, this squad is unified and have been able to come together every time and fight in prayer. I am so excited to be able to learn more about these people and grow closer in community to be the hands and feet of Jesus over here in Africa:)
Please continue to support us through prayer for unity, softening of hearts, and mental and physical health!
