We made it to Malaysia!!!!!
After two flights that brought us across the world and a six-hour drive up into northern Malaysia, we arrived in Sungai Petani after a 39-hour travel day. The first couple of days we just rested and explored, which was definitely much needed.
Also, we have the best hosts ever—PT and Jess. They welcomed us with open arms, and we couldn’t be having a better time.
We started ministry on Monday and are teaching English to Muslim refugee children from Myanmar. Each of us was paired with a student to teach for the duration of our stay here in Malaysia, and I’m loving it so much. Seeing my student truly start to understand, read, and write in English is amazing. I was also able to teach her multiplication, and it was incredible how fast she picked it up! This is truly such a rewarding job.
I have been seeing the Lord work in so many ways this past week. Attending a Malay church has really opened my eyes to how the Holy Spirit moves through language barriers and how you can feel His presence in a room of people who don’t preach or sing in your native tongue. The Word of God really is so powerful.
Some prayer requests I have:
- That I will be able to show the face of Jesus to my student and give her the tools she needs to excel in school.
- Prayers against spiritual warfare.
- Physical strength and health for me and my team.
I am currently 62% funded and still raising support to reach my $17,000 goal. I would love your support prayerfully, and I trust that the Lord will provide what I need. If you feel called to donate financially, I will link my fundraising page below. Please feel free to reach out.
Love you all so much and miss you,
Lexi Bolduc
