I want to share what the Lord has been doing in my life over the last couple of months. For those who don’t know I have decided to do a program called the World Race. It is a 9 month missions trip to 4 different countries. I am so excited to be a part of this journey with the Lord! I will be going to Nicaragua India, Nepal, and Eswatini.
I am a little late to writing this because I am already in Nicaragua, oops… But I want to share what the Lord has been doing. On August 31st, I went to Georgia for 5 weeks to train with the World Race on L Squad (my team). We would have lessons 6 days a week on all types of topics like the Holy Spirit, spiritual warfare, intercession, how to write a sermon, what it looks like to sabbath and so much more. During this time I have been able to just focus on Jesus as he prunes me, refines me and makes me a new creation, taking away the distractions from my world. A huge thing I have learned in this time is to be present and stop looking to the future (Matthew 6:25-34). I have learned how much more I can see Jesus when I just surrender and sit with him. He said “look how much you have already changed in this last month, and you didn’t see it happening. But I am working even when you don’t see. All you have to do is surrender and look at me, and I will change you. You don’t have to do anything (Luke 9:23-24)”.
My favorite part of this time is living in community with 35 fellow young adult believers who are fire for Jesus, calling each other up, and pointing towards Jesus like the believers in Acts 2. At the end of September, my team went to a Young Life camp in Georgia where we worked with the staff doing any jobs they needed to get done, from landscaping to housekeeping. It was an amazing time of learning to serve, work as a team, and learning that ministry takes many forms and we can see God in everything we do. Ultimately we aren’t saving anyone, we are just the hands and feet for Jesus and he can use us where ever we are if we just surrender to him (“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9). I am just in awe of Jesus and his character! I am learning so much and I am truly falling in love with Him.
Prayer requests!! Pray for my team and I, for continued growth and surrender. Pray for the people of Nicaragua for open hearts and that the Lord continues to encounter them.
