Hello from Nicaragua! These last four weeks have been packed with evangelism, discipleship, and adventures! We have been staying at a ministry called Reap Grenada in Granada Nicaragua. The ministry’s verse is 2 Corinthians 5:14 which says, “The love of Christ compels us.” I have taken that verse to heart and am learning what it means to be compelled by Christs love.
The majority of our ministry time is spent doing prayer walks. This is similar to door to door evangelism in the States. We go to homes and meet people of all kinds. Many people here believe in God. However, they don’t have a personal relationship with Him. We have the opportunity to share the Gospel with them! The good news that because of the sacrifice that Jesus made for us, we can live in relationship with him! We have also heard many stories of great faith in the Lord which is so encouraging!
My favorite kind of ministry is the hospital visits. We’re able to pray over people who are desperate to hear what the Lord is saying to them. It is a blessing to see how the Lord is healing and making himself known throughout it all.
Another form of ministry is working and praying at the farm where we are staying. This includes picking up trash, pulling weeds, digging trenches, and working in the kitchen. We also pray over the farm and the ministry. Asking God to take care of each person that steps on the property and asking the Holy Spirit to move in their hearts.
The Dump ministry is another favorite of mine. The dump is a location where the local cities leave trash. Many people work here: collecting trash and leftover food that they live off of. We have the opportunity to provide lunch for the workers and their families. We are also able to share the word of God with them. My favorite part is talking and playing with the kids.
I have so so many stories of how I have seen God working here! I can’t wait to share them all when I get home 🙂
