The secret place.
What is the secret place? I’ve always heard this christian term about the secret place. Go back to the secret place with the Lord. In my mind that didn’t make any sense. How does one get there? Where is it? Can I go there all the time? This has been a constant question in my mind since I met the Lord in January.
Recently training camp has been a whirlwind of emotions and it’s something I’m forever thankful for. The lord has taught me new things literally every day. One big thing is about the secret place. While I don’t completely understand the whole concept of the secret place but here’s what I’ve found out so far. The secret place is somewhere where I go to be with Jesus. Just Him and I. my most recent experience in the secret place looked like this. It’s a quiet beach with soft waves and white sand. The soft sand, not the grainy sand or super hot sand but nice soft and smooth sand. As I was sitting there I saw Jesus walking up to me, I stood up and greeted him with a big hug. It was the kind of hug that made you relax completely, a tight hug but not too tight to where you feel suffocated. I was so excited to just finally be in His presence, I just wanted to shove all of my stuff off on Him and be done with any baggage I was carrying. He smiled at me gently and said “Beloved, let’s go through this together”. My initial thought was kind of upset because I just didn’t want to deal with it. He was so gentle and kind to make it known that I wasn’t in this alone. He was right there with me, helping me.
I know that this world is so easy to be distracted in. It’s so easy to get caught in the motions of everyday activities. If I could share one thing it would be to slow down and be still. Be still and know that He is God. It’s a lot easier said than done but I encourage you to try it. See how the Lord works and moves.
