Hey everyone!! I just finished my two weeks at training camp in Georgia, and after two long travel days, my team made it to Brazil! We have one flight left and should arrive in Florianopolis just before midnight tonight. So before everything gets busy with our ministry partners, I wanted to give a little update on how the trip has been going so far. But first, I wanted to say THANK YOU for supporting me! All of your prayers mean the world to me, and I’m so grateful to have so many people who care so much. And I am SO close to being fully funded, with less than $500 left to go! I’ve said it before, but I truly couldn’t be doing this without you, so thank you thank you thank you! It is such a blessing.

So, training camp. It has been a crazy two weeks. For those who didn’t know, my family lost our dog Roxy on the same day I left for Georgia. I was blessed enough to be able to say goodbye, but it made for a really rough start to the trip. I’ve been really homesick, and on top of that, we got some huge storms, my tent flooded twice, my laundry got rained on, half my squad got sick, and there have been a lot of tears and things I just wasn’t prepared for. But there has also been a lot of joy! I’ve met so many amazing people who have such a heart for the Lord. I have a great team who love and encourage each other so well. I’ve sung worship songs around the fire. I’ve learned so much about how to bring the love of Jesus to others, and about God’s heart for His people. I’m learning how to discern God’s voice. And most importantly, I already feel like I’m growing in my personal relationship with the Lord, and have a deeper understanding of His love. So while there have been a lot of setbacks, and it definitely wasn’t an easy start, I’m really excited to see what God has planned for my squad and our time in Brazil.

Also, for more detailed (and much more frequent) updates, check out my squads instagram! It’s @southamerica.fsquad – a couple of my squad mates will be posting about all of our adventures. I would really appreciate prayer over the transition to Brazil, the ministries we will be working with, safety for my squad, and for the rest of my fundraising. We’ll be here for about five weeks before moving on to Ecuador. Thank you all again!!
