What bears fruit in your life?
There’s a constant itch in my soul to see fruit, multiplication, and progress. So of course pruning and winter aren’t my favorite. What can you do in winter? What can you do when you’re letting go of old things? What remains? Even fruit is seasonal so what can I hold onto in both spring and harvest?
It is truth.
So here I share with you a few truths now.
You are God’s child.
John 1:12 – Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.
You have the right to call God Father. Not only do you now have a protector and provider, you have a family. You have not just one to call Father but a Father to call upon. I remember asking the Lord in the depths of my journal if He saw me like a dog Jesus compared that woman to or as a daughter. I knew it was a bad question in my mind, yet my heart longed to ask. He answered me specifically in the clearest of ways. Listening to a recorded class taught a thousand miles away before I every wrote that line in my journal, the teacher spoke directly to me and said, “He sees you as a daughter and not as a slave.”
Psalm 116:2 – Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live.
He is kind and He hears you. He is a good Father.
2 Corinthians 6:18 – And, “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”
He said it over and over again, “You belong to Me.”
1 John 2:3 – Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.
You are a holy one.
1 Peter 2:9 – But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
God has set you apart! This does not mean you are lonely and pointless but the opposite! You are not set a part solely for the sake of beings set a part but for a purpose! You are holy and set a part for communion with the Father.
Titus 2:14 – who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
He gave His son that you may be His very own! He will transform you that you will desire and be eager to do good. He can mend and change our hearts, purifying for glory.
You have direct access to God through the Holy Spirit.
Isaiah 40:11 – He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.
God has called us close that we may come near! Can you imagine how beautiful, how precious this gift, that it never ends! I know I’ve come to God and have come close, and yet I find I am coming closer and get the feeling I’ll always being coming closer and closer to Him!
Ephesians 2:18 – For through Him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.
In nearness to God we have the Spirit! What divine connection He has created for us that we may be close to Him! Oh that we get to be near to His heart and come ever closer.
