Hi everyone! Week three is officially finished! This week felt exhausting, yet so rewarding. As I am writing this, I am reminiscing on everything we did this week: from weeding around the farm, to praying around the farm, visiting people at the hospital, visiting a widow, participating in a women’s event, and doing dump ministry. This week felt like “go, go, go” but it was so worth it.

Something I’d like to share about is what dump ministry looks like. So, our team will go the local dump (basically a huge landfill full of trash) and we will share a message and provide a meal to the people there. Many of the people who came were homeless and/or work at the dump (one of the women we met told us she makes $30.00 every TWO WEEKS- many people who “work” at the dump will sort through the trash that comes in, find recycling, and sell it). The dump was quite the experience & all my expectations were definitely thrown out the window. It’s so crazy to see all the people (and the kids!!!) that came and how they live. I know I have talked about this before, but they are all so desperate for something (or someone!). They have nothing. I feel like I really have no words. Coming into this ministry, we knew we were going to be seeing a lot of poverty and we were also taught about not carrying that weight around with us (it is going to be hard to see & not be able to do anything).
On the same note, last week we went and prayed with people at the hospital and I felt the same kind of heaviness there. Before we went in, our team spent time in prayer outside and a couple of things I had prayed were “God, would your spirit and presence be evident in us the minute we walk in” and of course a prayer along the lines of “break my heart for what breaks yours.” This time at the hospital felt so different than all of the other times. I felt the spirit moving so profoundly and it was leading people to tears. I began to feel just a heaviness on me and it truly was the Holy Spirit doing a work in me.

- We start ministry in Guatemala next week!
- peace over our team, we just found out that we are going to be splitting into 2 separate teams for Guatemala ministry (and both teams will be 9hrs apart) for all 4 weeks.
- Prayer for our leaders as they make the teams- that’s a lot of pressure!
- We are gaining another squad on the farm today- so it is going to be a packed house.
