It’s time to be sent out into the nations! Currently my squad is on our second plane to Malaysia. We just flew fourteen hours to Qatar, now we have an eight hour flight to Malaysia, then a six hour drive to where we are staying.
Debrief was a mix of emotions. There was an obvious heaviness throughout the week which we all felt, but thankfully we still had some awesome one on ones with each other and squad leaders/mentors. On Thursday we had our first adventure day and the whole squad went to the lake. There I took a bunch of clips on my camera to finish my recap video of Training Camp! Everyone was needing a bit of a pick-me-up after the week, so it was a ton of fun.
Throughout this week I’ve really been wrestling with God. Every week we do a “Revival Night” full of worship, and this week I left feeling disappointed. I got to call my mom, then my dad the next day, and they both opened my eyes in different ways. My mom reiterated how God always speaks but sometimes it’s so quiet, and it’s nothing I’m doing wrong. My dad brought up the analogy of how wrestling practice is like this training camp. By the time the week is over and it’s time for the tournament, you’re beaten, tired, and hungry, but that’s when the fight actually begins and what you’ve practiced comes to life. God is especially revealing that to my squad as we’re all feeling beat down, and we haven’t even started. But that’s where He is going to meet us. The difference between a wrestling tournament and life though, is that you don’t feed off of your own strength.
Although honestly I don’t feel prepared to go out there and spread the Gospel, God is going to do whatever He wants to do with me. I can’t say I’m not worthy of this opportunity because this was all His plan and it’s not mustered from me anyway. This all feels SO surreal still. The Lord is going to do amazing things, and I can already tell that His hand is over my squad.
Now begins the real adventure.
