Hey everyone!
There is so much to tell ya’ll! I can’t believe it’s already been a week, and yet I can’t believe it’s only been a week!
I’ll mention the highlights first:
On our third day, we had a travel day scenario. Our leaders told us to pack up EVERYTHING, and then told us that TSA lost half our bags, so we all had to pair up and share a tent with someone. But my squad is such a joyful squad, filled with the joy of the Lord and positivity. We happily shared our belongings and turned it into a sleepover party! It was a blessing to have a bonding experience so early on, it definitely broke any ice that was still between any of us. Next, we got to do laundry and take bucket showers. Bucket showers were a luxury after not showering for three days:) for laundry, all the women got to hand wash laundry together in Home Depot buckets, and it felt like a step into true womanhood and intimacy with my sisters in Christ. And all the clothes hanging up to dry after looked so aesthetic. Wednesday night was a revival night! We worshiped for several hours, and the Holy Spirit was moving and I had never seen anything like it! His power was so heavy, healings were happening, and there was outbreaks of joy and laughter! On Thursday, we had another scenario. We did mock home visits! We were sent in groups of three to a leader who pretended to be someone of a different culture and religion, and our job was to go into their “house”, hear their story, and share the gospel. I went into a Muslim household in Asia, and even though it was just a scenario, it was so eye opening to how much I don’t know. It was so difficult to share the Gospel to a Muslim when one, saying that Jesus is God is the one unforgivable sin, and two, that Islam is their entire life and culture, it’s what everyone around them believes and its deeply rooted in them and I can’t just go in and tell them they’re wrong. But now I am so excited to learn so much about other cultures and be sensitive and humble about what I don’t know. The last thing I’ll mention is the women’s fitness challenge! All the women at training, about 150 total, worked together in their squad to run to different points around campus using clues, and completed challenges like flipping a tire, leap frog, and wheel barrow. It took almost two hours in the Georgia heat, but it was a blast! Such a fun challenge to accomplish as a team!
Ok now hopefully ya’ll get a little bit of a picture of what it’s like here. It’s been so good! God is so good! I’ve learned so much about the Holy Spirit and what it means to have a relationship with him! He’s been revealing so many areas of my life that needed healing and to be surrendered to him, even places I didn’t even know need to. He’s led me in confession and vulnerability, which are things I hadn’t prioritized day to day before, but I’m growing in them, and seeing how beautiful it is to have a community around you who fully knows you, the good and the bad parts, and you fully know them too. It’s God’s design for us to be know and live in light and not darkness. The people on my squad are incredible! They are all ON FIRE for the Lord! They love so well, serve so well, and have so much joy in them! It’s been a joy getting to know them and I am so excited to walk with them through the good and bad these next 9 months. The Lord has given us a mission to TELL PEOPLE THE GOOD NEWS! (Like seriously I’m understanding more now that the gospel is literally the best news ever). And what a gift it is I get to do it with these people on my squad! Jesus is so good and he’s teaching me so much, I’ve been blown away by his love and kindness and desire to be with me and I cannot wait to share it with the world!!
Love you all!
