New Teams, New Homes, New Ministry!
This week is our first week in our new home! My team, “Imago Dei!” (Greek, meaning “image of God), will be spending the next 4 weeks in Poptún, Guatemala! I’m on an all girls team, which is different from being on a team with both girls and boys last month. Saying goodbye to the other half of our team was so sad, but I feel so blessed to have met so many people that make saying goodbye so hard!
God has been so good to us so far! Currently there is a tropical depression 50 miles north of us. It’s been raining nonstop here, but we haven’t had any flooding! Our host family is amazing! Abuelita and her children have been so hospitable and have welcomed us into their home with open arms! The first night here, they surprised us with Coke and candy after dinner! It was such a sweet surprise!
Our ministry here will look different than last month. In Nicaragua, we spent most of our time pulling weeds and doing house visits. Here in Guatemala, we are so blessed to be doing KIDS MINISTRY!! In my last blog post, I wrote about how kids ministry has my entire heart, and I’m so blessed to spend this next month in it. God is so good y’all! I can’t wait to see what God is doing here in Guatemala!
Prayer Requests:
-Potential flooding from the rain
-Homesickness
-Health in our last few weeks here
-For my friends as family back home- My family and many of my friends are all together in Alabama right now
Here are a few pictures from Guatemala so far!!
