1st Blog 2/6/25

Hi everyone! Welcome to my blog! I just wanted to come on here and explain what the World Race is.

So, the World Race is an organization that hosts international mission trips. Training will be happening in Georgia before I go out, with my team, to Ethiopia, Thailand, Cambodia, and Guatemala for a whole 9 months! I’m not entirely sure how I’ll be serving in these places because it will really all depend on what that community needs at that particular time. One thing that really drew me to the Race was the fact that everyone going with me would also be between the ages of 17-21. This group of people that I’ll be surrounded by is so unique because of our youth. I’m already on a group chat with some of the people I’ll be going with and they are all so genuine and special. I can’t wait to see all that God has planned for me throughout the preparation process and trip itself.

One particular verse that is standing out to me in this process is 1st Timothy 4:12 “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”

As a young person often it can be hard for me to feel qualified for things. Especially being surrounded by people much more experienced in their faith, I don’t always feel like I’m qualified to do things like pray for others. This verse is an encouraging reminder that I can still be an example and build up others in faith.

With love,
Mieko 🙂

P.S. I hope to update this blog weekly. When I’m actually on the Race I will be updating this blog pretty consistently with my experiences and how God is working. During preparation I will try to update weekly with what God is teaching me.
