She stands. Lifeless. Unmoving.

He walks over to her. His hand moves to His heart as deep compassion for His creation consumes Him. From dust, He breathes life into her. Her arms stretch out and she is awake. alive. He has brought her to life.

Her heart beats for the first time and it mimics her creator’s heartbeat. She follows Him as He teaches her how to move her arms.

Up. Across. Up. Down.

Then her legs. Up. Across. Up. Down.

She is awake.

Alive.

Ready to move and embrace this life with Him by her side. Spirit-filled and ready to be with Him forever.

He leads her across His creation. In awe and wonder, she keeps her eyes focused on all that He has made just for her. Her place to reside and be with Him forever. The skies radiating His majesty. He creates a bush and gives her a flower to hold. To smell. She follows Him, just a step behind. So close to her creator. Not wanting to miss a single thing in this beautiful and perfect world.

From dust, He creates a tree. apple or orange. He reaches up for one, dusts it off to hand to her. She bites into the fruit and her face seeps into a smile. Her hands reach her stomach as she expresses the flavors that she just experiences. A flavor so fresh and real. She looks upward to the skies in amazement of what He has just created for her.

She follows as He leads her into another area of the world He created. From dust, He creates birds and sends them to roam and rule the skies. She reaches up to touch them and runs through the fields to chase them. From the skies, He creates a cloud. Dark and ready to cry. The droplets of rain come down from the skies and land into a puddle. He reaches down and gathers water for her to drink. Her first drink.

He grabs her hand and they dance. Back and forth. Three figure eight twirls that keep them step in step with each other. He leads her in the dance, one handed, the other flowing freely in the wind. And He lets her go. Trusting her to continue to follow him. Only someone who she didn’t even notice was there comes and takes His place.

A boy comes and grabs a hold of her free hand. The boy twirls her more swiftly than she had just been twirled. Her lets her go and she steps around, confused, yet excited for this new thing. She looks towards Him and then back around. Afraid to move in either direction. The boy walks away, sneakily, towards Him. Blocking them from each other and the boy shoves Him out of her way. Then the boy goes back to her. He grabs her hand and spins her out. Towards Him. He tries to grab a hold of her hand, looking at her with desperation and sympathy. To bring her back to Him. But the boy quickly spins her back to himself, keeping her eyes on him. The boy then spins her around and dips her down, dizzy and dazed. The boy puts a rose in her mouth, giving her something tangible to feel loved. He takes her hand once more and spins her around and around. Back and forth. A smile develops across her face, and she realizes that she is in love with who the boy is and what the boy is offering her. The boy brings her to himself, his hand drawing along her cheek, looking at her with desire. But he takes the rose from her mouth, pushes her hair back behind her ear, spins her once more and lets go of her hand. Then the boy walks backward into the distance. And He is standing there. Desperately trying to get her attention again. Hoping that her eyes will return to His. And while she’s still bewildered, she sees the small shiny glimmer of green paper before her eyes.

It’s waved in front of her face. Then behind. And beside. Instantally, she reaches out and tries to grab the money. Clinging to it and chasing the feeling of putting her worth into the shimmering promises of security. She runs towards it. Needing it. Needing what it could provide for her. She falls to the ground in desperation and the green paper trickles down around her. She crawls around, picking up the shimmery promises of hope, collecting them. Feeling secure in it’s promise. She gets up, but as she reaches for more, it gets snached out of her hand and it’s gone. And without a second passing, a drunk stumbling woman puts her arm around her, dragging her downward.

The drunk woman comes up without a warning, dragging her along into her drunken world. She stumbles and stumbles, tripping over herself, barley keeping upright. The smile spreads across her whole face as she tilts her head back and takes a sip of the liquid assurance. The drunk woman makes this seem fun and life-giving. The girl is intrigued and she reaches for the bottle. Trying to pry it out of the drunk woman’s hands, they wrestle with the bottle. The girl wins the endless hope and clarity that the bottle seems to possess. The drunk woman stumbles away and the girl is left with the bottle. She throws it back. Empty. She has drank all the she could and she tosses the bottle aside. Consumed by it’s false hope and empty promises.

Feeling lost and confused, she walks around until something pink catches her eye. A tall woman, full of beauty, is before her. She walks proud. Confident. The girl is interested into what has made her that way. The girl looks at the women full of awe and then looks down at herself. A frown forms her face as her hands embrace her own body, disappointed. The epitome of beauty is something she feels she is not. The woman comes over and takes the ponytail that was holding the girl’s hair up and pulls it out. Her hair is down. Insecurity takes over the girl as her hair is not perfect like the tall woman’s is. Comparison consumes her. She re-examines her body as she notices differences between hers and the womans. The girl, desperate to change her physical appearance dabbles in the art of making herself thin to regain status among those around her. But this too does not last.

The girl walks around. Hands in her hair. Stressed and confused. Crying. Hurting so deeply with nowhere to go.

A dark figure surrounds her, unnoticed at first. As the girl looks up, a knife is placed in front of her. Astonished, she tries to push it away. Not wanting to give it to the pure satisfaction that she thinks it might. She looks at the knife and back to the black figure behind her, and takes the knife. The dark figure shows her how to hurt herself in a way that she never thought she would. She bends over and cuts herself. Blood seeping down her arms and hands. Astonished, she looks at the damage that she has just done. And then a gun appears. And this dark figure tempts her again with something so dark that it is all that she can see. The girl has reached the end of herself. And she has run so far. So far from Him. She fights the dark figure. Desperately trying to not give into the very thing she thought she never would be battling. They wrestle. Back and forth. The gun in her hand one minute and the next it’s on the floor. And then she’s on the floor. And she sees Him. For the first time in so long she notices that He is there. And she reaches for Him. But the dark figure is too quick and he forces the gun back into her hands. Guiding it to herself. She shakes, contemplating her next steps. The dark figure has complete control over her and her next steps. He is behind her. Watching her every step and moving her in the direction the he pleases.

She stands. The gun still in her hands. She walks around. Contemplating what she’s about to do. If she’s about to do it. She raises the gun.

And then she drops the gun.

And she runs.

Back to Him.

But before she can get to Him, she has to face her daemons. She runs towards Him. So desperate to find Him. To hide herself in Him. To find safety and comfort and security. All of these things she knows He can only provide. But the demons. They are in front of Him. Blocking them once again. She runs and gets knocked down. She quickly gets back up, but is instantly pushed down to the ground. But to her, there is nothing that is going to stop her from getting to Him. She fights them. With everything that she has. No force of evil will prevail her from getting back to Him. She gets closer and closer. Getting past one demon at a time.

And then He comes running in. Between the girl and her demons. And she falls to the floor. He blocks them even though they try so hard to get back to her, she is now focused on worship. A heart for Him. She centers herself, all of who she is in Him. She no longer looks at her past. Back to the demons that once won her over. Her eyes are solely on Him. And He is fighting for her. Fighting her demons.

They fall.

Disappear.

Forever.

They travel into the depths of a place she will never know.

Each one of them won by Him for her.

She is on her knees. Praying and worshipping.

And her Jesus returns to her.

He dusts her off and helps her up. Back on her feet. Because of Him.

He takes her hand and spins her around like they once did before. He dips her like a groom does for His bride. He has claimed her as His bride. The warmth of their smiles towards each other telling everything without words. It’s an indescribable love that she feels. That she will always feel. Her Jesus saved her from the depths of hell and she will never go back. She will never be the same.

The girl and Jesus embrace in a long embrace and they walk back into the perfect world that she was created in. The world that was made for her and Him. Together. Forever.
