Hello everyone, sorry I am a bit late again, but we were back at it this week. We started up at the orphanage for the first two days of the week and I got a chance to tell the kids a story from the Bible and I told them the story of David and Goliath. It was pretty funny because when I said that Goliath fell down all the preschoolers said “oopsies” simultaneously. It was quite cute. I also got more time to spend with the babies upstairs and I got to change more diapers and wash more of them as well. It has been quite amazing to work with these people at the orphanage. The lady who runs our orphanage was talking to us about how she was going to a funeral back home for her in Limpopo (a family member of hers passed away) and that she was going to try and figure out how to get there by bus that would take over 24 hours! We decided to fundraise and buy her a plane ticket so that she could go visit her family in the rough times. She was so so so happy when we told her that she didn’t need to worry about trying to figure out the bus and she didn’t need to skip days of work because of the time it took to ride the bus. She loves the kids that are there so much and she calls them her kids and they call her mom. She truly works so hard for her kids and it was nice to be able to do something special for her! Wednesday through Friday we worked at a youth camp. Those of you who know my background know that I went to Warner Camp for years and years and then went back to work/volunteer there a bit as well. I love church camps, and to get to do one here in South Africa was amazing. I had a new role this time… I was part of the media team! So I was a cameraman along with Addisyn, Emma, and Jordan. Addisyn and I also co-led as hosts of our “show” where we would go around, get kids hyped up, and interview them as well. We had little microphones and everything! It was very awesome to go and see the Lord moving through these kids at this camp. Even though it was only three days, the energy from worship and small group times with the kids was amazing. It was really cool to get to be a part of it. Plus the location was absolutely gorgeous! We even saw a couple of young Bushbuck that came out of the bush to visit us! It was quite beautiful. They are usually quite elusive and don’t show themselves, so it’s more rare to see them. I also got to be the person who wrote and changed the slides for worship. I have never done that either, but now I have. So any of you that need someone to do that for church ever, I have experience! I loved my experience at the camp and truly felt the Lord moving through our time there. I also have a different ministry that we started this week, so stay tuned for the next blog post… (it should be a really long week of ministry, so my blog post may be late again, so bear with me) Thank you to all of you for staying tuned and looking at my posts and going through this with me!
