On Tuesday the team had our weekley “Adventure Day,” a day designed to allow us to go see and experience the country we are in however we would like. Needless to say…it was amazing! We all decided to go to a beach about 2 hours from where we’re living, as well as go snorkeling. We saw lots of fish, starfish, urchins, crabs, jellyfish, and some of the squad even saw an octopus! The water was beautiful (even though it was a little cold), the sun shined just overtop the mountains and made for an amazing view as well. It’s always so amazing to be in the creation of the Lord and soak it up as much as possible…but this Adventure Day had my mind running, constantly thinking of how great God’s imagination truly is.
How did the Lord craft each and every bit of land and sea? How did He come up with these concepts in the first place? How did he think to make colors, and give us the complex ability to see them?
How amazing is He that even rocks beneath the water are pleasing to our eyes? How creative is He to make an animal like a jellyfish (like for real…what the heck even is a jellyfish supposed to do?). His humor is beyond our comprehension.
What an artist He is to paint the sky every morning and night for those aware enough to soak in the beauty of His creation. What an illustrator He is to draw out our entire lives before we were knitted in our mother’s wombs. How great a father He is, for taking delight in seeing us enjoy the world He created for us to dwell in.
The more I think, the more I praise gratefully. The Lord’s imagination is far greater than the intricate one that He blessed each and every one of us with. We will never understand fully who God is, but we can strive to learn more and more each day…and that is what I will continue to do. I will keep soaking in this blessing that surrounds me every day, even when I go back to Iowa and don’t have the unique views that Europe brings. I will still find beauty in His creation; everywhere I go, every step I take, every path I walk. I submit to His plan, and His path…because in the end, I know that what His imagination has written next to my name is much more beautiful than anything my mind could ever dream of.
