Wow!! Week one is over and I can’t believe it. Honestly, it feels like I’ve been here for 3 weeks AT LEAST (all my squad mates have been saying the same) but it has only been 7 DAYS!! Those of you that have been to Coatesville know the feeling…
This first week has consisted of lots of sweet worship, sessions on hard topics to prepare our hearts and mind for ministry, and LOTS of vulnerability and bonding with my squad mates. I had been praying for my squad mates months and months before coming to camp because who I spend 9 months with is kinda a big deal. And Jesus is SO SO good! I never thought I could love people so much so quickly but M-squad has proven me wrong and I am so glad they did 🙂

What the Lord has been teaching me…
So, obviously it has been amazing to bond with my team, worship with such a huge body of believers, and listen to so many awesome teachings… however nothing beats simply hearing the voice of the Lord and feeling His comfort and peace wrap around you. On the first night of worship I had an alumni racer walk up to me as I was praying and she just spoke into exactly what my heart needed to hear and I didn’t even know that’s what I needed. (what a God moment!!) Since that moment the Lord has been prodding my heart with Luke 7:36-50 and Luke 10:38-42. (highly highly encourage you to go check out those passages!!) I’ll try to sum up my thoughts as best as I can but I apologize if it doesn’t make much sense…
basically since the first night here the Lord has been whispering to me,
“My child, don’t forget to love me”.
now, when I hear Him say this it isn’t in a condemning or disappointing tone… I just hear the earnest voice of a father, desperate for His daughter to set aside all distractions and just sit with Him. I’ve always known in the back of my mind that I am a doer. It’s not easy for me to just sit and quiet my mind. But, I realized that going into training camp and the missions trip ahead of me, I was so set on the service and all that I could do that I was loosing sight of the One I am doing it all for… so this week I spent a lot of time just sitting at the feet of Jesus because that’s all that really matters and everything in ministry should flow from that. One of the songs we’ve been singing during worship really wraps it up perfectly:
“Nothing matters more than just to sit here at your feet and worship you!”
Crazy sunsets!!
So ya 🙂 that’s one of the big things the Lord has been speaking to me about lately and if you wanna hear more or just catch up please please reach out!! I’d love to share more of what He’s doing and how He’s working but this blog is already much longer than I had planned 😂
How you can be praying…
pray for my heart and my teammates hearts… that we would all be focused on sitting at the feet of Jesus before all else so that everything else (our ministry work, our worship, and even our bonds with each other) would flow from that!
awesome reminder of His faithfulness!
pray for my fundraising… HUGE PRAISE!! I’m at 47% so I only need about $500 more to reach my 50% deadline at the end of September!! God has been SO SO faithful to provide and it’s been incredible.
